Tipikat FAQ

Questions about Tipikat

Short answers for members, server owners, and moderators who want to understand how Tipikat works.

Getting started

What is Tipikat?
Tipikat is a Discord bot for virtual server economies. It includes balances, income commands, games, shops, custom replies, custom commands, moderation tools, and a web dashboard.
Who can use Tipikat?
Tipikat can be used on any Discord server. It is useful for community, gaming, roleplay, friend, and economy servers that want a configurable virtual currency system.
How do I start?
Use /help or the server prefix help command to browse commands. Common first commands are /balance, /daily, /work, and the dashboard for server configuration.
Which languages are supported?
Tipikat supports English, German, and Turkish. The server language can be configured by server admins. Website pages also support language switching.

Economy

Is Tipikat money real money?
No. All balances, winnings, shop items, and rewards are virtual server currency only. They have no real-world value and cannot be paid out.
Are balances shared between servers?
No. Balances are server-specific. Money earned on one server does not transfer to another server.
What is the difference between wallet and bank?
Wallet is the money a user actively carries. Bank is the stored balance. Some commands use or affect one of these balances depending on the command and server settings.
What is starting balance?
Starting balance is the default wallet and bank amount new users receive on a server. Economy resets also reset members to this configured starting balance.
Can admins add or remove money?
Yes. Authorized server staff can use economy administration commands to add, remove, or reset balances. These actions can also be logged through the money audit log if configured.

Income & games

How can users earn money?
Users can earn virtual currency through commands such as /daily, /work, /crime, /sell-honor, /rob, and role income.
Can income commands fail?
Crime and Sell Honor can have fail chances and fines, depending on the server configuration. Work is the safer income command.
Which games are available?
Tipikat includes games such as Blackjack, Roulette, Slots, Horse Race, Coinflip, Cockfight, and Tipico-style football betting.
Can I bet all my money?
Supported game and economy commands accept flexible amount inputs where available, such as exact amounts, all, half, and short formats like 1e3.

Shop & inventory

What can users buy?
Depending on the server setup, users can buy configured role income items, credit cards, and other inventory-based rewards.
Are shop purchases global?
No. Purchases are tied to the server where they were bought, so one server's economy cannot be used to unlock items everywhere.
Why is a buy button disabled?
A disabled buy button usually means the item is already owned or currently cannot be purchased.

Dashboard

Who can access the dashboard?
You need to log in with Discord. A server is shown when you have the Manage Server permission there. Server-specific actions still respect Tipikat's permission logic.
Why is my server missing?
The most common reasons are: the bot is not on the server, your Discord account does not have Manage Server, Discord data needs refreshing, or the bot was invited with insufficient permissions.
What can admins configure?
Admins can configure prefix, color, currency symbol, starting balance, money audit log, income settings, replies, rob settings, role income, moderation settings, command rules, and custom commands.
How are dashboard changes saved?
Most dashboard settings use a change bar. After editing settings, save the detected changes or discard them before leaving the page.
What are dashboard audit logs?
Dashboard audit logs record changes made through the web dashboard, including who changed what and when.

Commands & custom commands

Can commands be disabled per server?
Yes. Server admins can configure command rules such as enabled state, cooldowns, allowed channels, blocked channels, allowed users, and blocked users.
Are protected commands always reachable?
Commands needed for administration, such as settings and command management, are protected so admins do not accidentally lock themselves out completely.
What are custom commands?
Custom commands are server-specific prefix commands created in the dashboard. They support aliases, cooldowns, tags, and custom responses.
Can custom commands replace core commands?
No. Core Tipikat commands cannot be overwritten by custom commands.

Moderation

Which moderation tools exist?
Tipikat includes ban, unban, kick, timeout, untimeout, mute, unmute, warn, warnings, clear warnings, delete warning, purge, slowmode, lock, unlock, jail, unjail, softban, tempban, and setup helpers.
What are moderation cases?
Every moderation action can create a server case. Cases make actions easier to review, and reasons can be updated later.
What is the difference between mute and timeout?
Timeout uses Discord's built-in timeout feature. Mute can use a configured Muted role; if no mute role is configured, Tipikat can fall back to timeout.
How does jail work?
Jail requires a configured jail role and jail channel. Depending on settings, Tipikat can remove roles while a user is jailed and restore them on unjail or expiry.
Why does a moderation command fail?
Usually the bot or moderator lacks permissions, the target is above the bot in the role hierarchy, or required jail/mute setup is missing.

Tags & replies

What are tags?
Tags are placeholders used in custom replies and custom commands. They can insert dynamic data such as member names, mentions, server information, roles, channels, and more.
Why does {amount} matter?
Income replies for Work, Crime, and Sell Honor must include {amount} so Tipikat knows where to show the generated payout or fine.
Can roles and channels be displayed nicely?
Yes. Tipikat tries to render roles and channels as readable Discord-style labels instead of raw IDs where possible.

Troubleshooting

The bot does not answer. What should I check?
Check whether the bot is online, has permission to view and send messages in the channel, is not blocked by command rules, and whether you are using the correct prefix or slash command.
Slash commands are missing. What can I do?
Try waiting a few minutes after inviting or updating the bot. Also make sure the bot was invited with the applications.commands scope.
Dashboard saving fails. What should I do?
Refresh the page, check whether you are still logged in, verify that you still have Manage Server permission, and try again. If it keeps failing, contact support with the server name and what you changed.
My currency symbol or emoji looks wrong.
Currency symbols can be plain text, numbers, Unicode emoji, Discord emoji, or a combination. If a custom Discord emoji is not visible, the bot or user may not have access to that emoji.
How do I request data deletion or information?
Contact Tipikat by email or through the support server. Deletion and information requests are handled manually.
